Sometimes I might have difficulty reading your mind and I will need help from my typing magician's assistant (you). Actually, it is more than help. I will need you to point to a key on the typing keyboard. (I know, I know... What do you expect from a free magic act?) When pointing to a key, make long stroking movements so that I can see your selection. For now, point to the S key. |

Typing Tips Learning to type is not magic. It requires patience and practice. Let the Little Professor be your guide to help you develop valuable keyboarding skills. Finger placement. Gently place the fingers of your left hand on the A S D F keys. The fingers of your right hand should be on the J K L ; keys. Check your hands. Do not let your wrists become lazy and rest against the desk or keyboard. Check your fingers. Are your fingers curved? Are they on the correct home row keys? Keep your fingernails trimmed. Strike each key with the pad of your finger, not your fingernails. Move only the needed finger. Train your fingers to stay on their assigned home row key. Short fingers? Then pivot with the little or index finger for long reaches. Fingers should strike a key. Don't "mush" keys. Strike a key and move on. Fingers on Home row location. After striking a key, immediately return the finger to the correct home row key. Train your fingers. Repeat an exercise until you are satisfied with your progress. |
