Exercises

Typing Arm Exercises Extend arms outward.
  • Stretch fingers to reach ceiling.
  • Hold for count of ten.
  • Relax. Then repeat typing exercise five times.
  • When typing, your arms should slope slightly upward to aid your keystrokes.
Touch Typing Extend arm and tighten fist.
  • Bend both wrists down toward floor.
  • Hold for count of ten.
  • Relax. Then repeat typing exercise five times.
Constantly check your posture when keyboarding. Your arms should be tucked in, next to your body. Your feet should be flat on floor. Your wrists should be "up," neither resting on the keyboard, nor resting on the desk.

Your fingers should be on their assigned home row keys. Only the finger used to strike should move. All other fingers should remain on their assigned home row keys. Always use the correct key reaches with the correct finger so that typing speed and accuracy will increase with practice.

The
NimbleFingers touch typing - keyboarding program will improve your keyboarding skills.
