    Typing flash cards. Typing tips for touch typing practical terms

    Finger dexterity. Try the finger dexterity exercises in the Healthy Typing section.

    Positive attitude. Learning can be fun.. If you have a positive attitude.

    Smile! It releases tensions and makes for a happy environment.

    Type smooth! Type at a smooth, easy pace.

    Quiet, organized work area. The area where data entry is performed, should be free of clutter, and should be without distractions.

    GIGO!   Garbage In, Garbage Out! The accuracy of an information system is only as accurate as the data entered into the system.

    Healthy typing. Go to the section in this www.nimblefingers.com web site and try the physical exercises onfinger dexterity exercises and stretching. It is a moral boster.

    The samba? Check out the finger dexterity called the Samba.

    Develop a routine. Set the work environment like you want it to optimize your learning sessions. Don’t let the chair height; tilt of the monitor, location of the keyboard or posture vary from session to session.

    Do you have an extra fifteen minutes? Then you can complete a couple of practice exercises. It might not sound like much, but you have helped develop your skills.

    Preparation. Accuracy is possible only when the equipment is correctly placed and you maintain the correct posture. Otherwise, errors will occur. There is a proper relationship between the keyboarder and the equipment.

    Magic is not needed. Learning how to type is not magic. It requires patience and more practice. Let the Little Professor be your guide in developing valuable skills.

    Make adjustments. Check your distance from the keyboard. Adjust your chair when necessary to avoid a common problem – that of sitting too close to the keyboard. Adjust the angle of your monitor to minimize glare. Remove excessive paperwork from your work area.

    Key without looking at the keys. Use a quick stroke to strike each key. Do not press or mash the key. Strike the key quickly and move on.

    Whisper. Whisper each letter as you use a quick stroke to strike and bounce off keys. Quickly return your finger to the assigned home row location.

    You can do it! You can learn how to type. It just requires practice and Nimble Fingers.
